Today (May 5, 2010) is the 100th anniversary of the death of Alexander Maclaren (1826-1910) who died on this date in 1910 at the age of 84. See my "Triumphant Certainties" blog, listed below (first one listed), for many quotations from his sermons.
I confidently predict that there will not be a Maclarenpalooza this year to match the Calvinpalooza of last year. That's OK, I guess. Maclaren was pretty famous in his own time - only Spurgeon's published sermons outsold Maclaren's.
He was one of God's choice servants. Read him a little, if you care to. His "Expositions of Holy Scripture" is available on the web, I believe.
