A useful psalm tune

For those of you who sing psalms in private or family worship, but sometimes struggle with appropriate tunes for certain long-metre psalms, it may interest you to know that you may use the tune of the hymn "Before the throne of God above" to long-metre psalms. A PCI minister friend of mine has had his congregation sing Psalm 3 in the Free Church's Sing Psalms to this tune, and I tried it myself in private worship tonight. It seems to work pretty well, as it does for Psalm 62 in the same psalm-book. As I nearly exclusively use The Psalms for Singing (the RPCI Psalter), I will try it out on a few long-metre psalms in that version in the near future.

Old Hundredth fits too. It has the advantage of having been sung in Geneva in the mid 1500s.
