The Worth of a Mother
By Bill Brown

The worth of a mother, how can it be measured?
Is it valued in gold or the standard of treasure?
Is it found in the word of stoics from Greece?
Or can we see it through love, gentleness and peace?

Can her worth be touched? Is it something to handle,
Or is it invisible, illusive, not at all tangible?
How shall we define it, or assign its place,
In order that many may know of its grace?

The truth is her worth is not something manmade,
It is has been formed by God from out of the clay.
A mother of faith has value indeed,
For from a virgin mother came Thy Holy Seed.

So listen dear mother, understand your true worth,
A saint called by grace soon to leave this old earth.
And into the arms of a Savior who's loved,
Each sinner redeemed, born through a mother's love.
