It is amazing how only a couple generations ago, there was broad unanimity on the application of the fourth commandment, among the ten. This went for Baptists, Methodists, Lutherans and the Presbyterian and reformed denominations also. Even the Roman communion acquiesced in practical observance.

That's why many places had "blue" laws, many of which still stand to this day, that restricted certain commerce on the sabbath.

Now, in our generation, have we really discerned a better understanding of God and His ways?

Based on what?

Are we a more spiritual people? Has the church become more spiritually mature in discerning God's will as He has revealed it through Scripture?
 
Thanks for posting that Josh, what a reminder of how far evangelicalism has fallen. Sad when Christians skip worship on the Lord's day to run marathons, take their kids to soccer games, or go into work to make some extra money, but it's so common that it's like we don't even bat an eye anymore. Reminds me once again how often I have broken the 4th commandment.
