And we're off! Here we go for week one of what everyone's waiting for! Fifteen games starting FRIDAY

Brief summary of the rules, which are pretty basic:
  • Fifteen games to pick each week.
  • Your entire slate must be entered by the kickoff of the first game of the selection
  • Any COVID-related forfeits / cancellations will not count in the week's standings
  • The tiebreaker game is one of the standard set of games. Therefore the first cut is the number of total wins predicted INCLUDING the tiebreaker game.
Then if people are tied, the tiebreaker rules go into effect.
  • First tiebreaker: Did you get the winner of the tiebreaker game correct?
  • Second tiebreaker: How close was your predicted score? ("closest" is defined by how far away your predicted score is from the score, plotted on a graph of winner score vs. loser score. Illustration will be provided the first time we need to activate this tiebreaker)
  • Third tiebreaker: Order of submission of picks (if you revise picks prior to the submission deadline, your order of submission uses the time of the last revision)

Well, week one is in the books, and a familiar face at the top of the leaderboard again, as Edward wins the first :flamingscot:. Lots of back-and-forth games this week, so if you were following the action throughout the day Saturday, you surely had, as I did, flip-flopping visions of the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat flashing past your eyes. Onward to week two!

Note: Our collective team score was just 40.0% this week! Tough to score well!

9: Edward :flamingscot:
8: Jean
7: Earl, EdM
6: SolaScriptura, toddpedlar, Zach
5: ChristianLibertarian, GreenBaggins, kainos04, EyeDoc84

I think the key to victory for you all is to wait for my picks, then do the opposite!

How 'bout them Dawgs.

But the big question out of week 1 - is Tulane really that good this year, or is Oklahoma really that bad.

Don't know much about Oklahoma, but I follow the Dawgs year-round. While I knew these defenses were good, I had no idea the offenses would get shut down!
