I note that there are a number of Abridged Mattew Henry commentaries on the market. Does anyone know if any in particular are good ones - ie, great skill and care in producing an abridged copy of the original commentary?

Years ago I had the Hendrickson one and it was pretty good barre in mind that it's small print I was a lot younger then now that would be a challenge even though I don't use glasses .................

I think Matthew Henry is great maybe the greatest I think the 5 volume set is better and easier to read of the different volumes.
But you did not ask that lol yeah I like the Hendrickson one ..............

Hi Stephen,

I was given this one ~15 years ago, and I've really enjoyed it.

I have the unabridged set in digital format, and it's certainly more full, but the abridgement does cut some of the more extraneous/digressionary matter.

Forgive my ignorance, brother, but I'm not very familiar with the history of the Commentary's transmission. I'd be grateful for any information you might provide!

I'm not sure, but I am assuming you are refering to my comments about the "Broad Oak edition". I understand this first came out in the 1960's as an abridged ed of the original commentary by Leslie Church. As far as I know both Marshall, Morgan & Scott and Zondervan rerinted this edition.
