Ligonier's Blog has a list of the most significant books of 2008. I already have 6 of these! Here's the link. Here's the list:

* Reformed Dogmatics, Vol. 4, by Herman Bavinck
* Systematic Theology, Vol. 1, by Douglas Kelly
* Christless Christianity by Michael Horton
* The Courage to Be Protestant by David Wells
* Reformed Confessions of the 16th and 17th Centuries in English Translation by James Dennison
* Justification: Understanding the Classic Reformed Doctrine by J.V. Fesko
* Recovering the Reformed Confession by Scott Card
* The Design of Life by William Dembski and Jonathan Wells
* The Genius of Luther’s Theology by Robert Kolb and Charles Arand
* New Testament Theology by Thomas Schreiner

Are there any other recommendations that didn't make the list?

Perhaps it's the legendary author Orson Scott Card, prince of character-driven science fiction and fantasy, multiple time winner of the Hugo and Nebula awards.

Did I mention he wrote my two favorite fiction books? Ender's game and Speaker for the Dead.

Well, he probably didn't write Recovering the Reformed Confession, since he's a lapsed Mormon.

I am really enjoying R. Scott Clark's "Recovering the Reformed Confession"....excellent book.

If you are looking for good books to add to the list, how about . . .

People and Place, Michael Horton
Concise Reformed Dogmatics, van Genderen
Christ and Culture Revisited, D.A. Carson
