Anyone know of a reformed study bible in the new king james ? Its for a new convert that "must" use a study bible and can not be talked into anything else.

He is currently reading from a new living translation study bible. The translation and commentary is horrible.

It is not KJV, but the Reformation Study Bible in the ESV is quite excellent.

The New Geneva Study Bible is NKJV. I got one from Ligonier Ministries years ago. You may find one on Ebay.

Why have a study Bible in the first place?

Anyone know of a reformed study bible in the new king james ? Its for a new convert that "must" use a study bible and can not be talked into anything else.

Why have one/them, especially if it is predisposed to a specific theological position?

I agree. My friend says he "must" use a study bible. i am encouraging him not to use a study bible. He is now using the new living translation and will only throw that thing away if he is given a "study" bible. My goal is to give him a good translation and he will not read the AV.

I believe the Reformation Study Bible is still available in New King James. It is also been republished in the English Standard Version.

Excellent study tool
In my opinion this is the best all around NKJV study Bible currently available.The study notes are Reformed and present a balanced treatment of areas such as baptism and eschatology that are viewed differently among those of us in the Reformed community. As someone who strongly prefers the TR/Majority Text on which the NKJV is based I am pleased to see this Bible still remains available.The only areas in need of improvement would be a larger type size for those who are visually impaired and possibly a darker font as well. The print in my copy at least seems a bit on the light size. On the whole I recommend this Bible wholeheartedly to anyone who wishes to study the Scriptures at a deeper level than usual.
