Im looking for Battles’ translation of the Institutes, but I can only find it for $60 USD. Anyone know of anything cheaper? No ebooks please.

Thanks.

Depends. Do you want the 1536 edition or the 2 vols? Research related or you just want a physical copy of the text?

Why do you want that version?

I want the cheapest copy of a basic, physical copy of the text.

I want it because I heard it was good.

Are you doing academic work on Calvin? If not, Beveridge is a better and cheaper option. This has been widely discussed on here. There are many helpful threads on this topic. Not including the BoT edition of the 1541 edition, I have Battles, Beveridge and Allen. In order, I prefer Allen, Beveridge, and Battles. Allen's translation is hard to find a copy with decent hinges.
If you want a good companion, I commend to you a book we published titled, Piety's Wisdom by J. Mark Beach. Just my two cents.

Academically, I’m not entirely impressed with Battles’s translation. It just tends to maintain some scholarly consensus.

It certainly isn't his translation that makes it valuable for academic work. His footnotes are the strength of that edition. I spent so much time studying the strengths of each translation and read so many threads on this topic. This is one of the most helpful on the topic.

I believe that the price you mentioned is more than likely going to be the cheapest you can find for the hardcopy.

Alright, thanks everyone. I’ll stick with the cheaper Beveridge.

That seems to be the going price. And that's for Paperbacks whereas until a few years ago this used to be printed in Hardcover for the same price or even less.

Keep an eye on ebay as well as searching for the ISBN on bookfinder.com. I got the 2 vols for under $45 including shipping a few years ago, practically brand new. But you have to be patient and may have to wait a year or more for something like that to turn up on the used market unless you're not picky when it comes to condition.

Unless they start printing it again, the HC (ISBN 0664220282) is only going to get more expensive, but someone might start an auction too low. You never know.

I see that you are in Canada, so shipping costs might be considerable also.
