I don't get Roman Catholicism

I grew up in it...have read their catechism and theologies...but I still don't get what Hahn, Sungenis, et al mean when they say the "deposit of faith is in Rome". If the deposit of faith is in Rome and it is a unifying, clear, precise, faith, not subject to those crazy Protestant "every man interprets his Bible how he wants" subjectivities, how does this (see link below) happen???

Implicit faith in the magisterium of the Roman Catholic church.
A leap in the dark...Hahn oughta know better. A Catholic handed me an article by Hahn which he thought woould convert me, it was about Scripture and tradition. Hahn was claiming that some verse in Paul's epistles to Timothy, sorry I can't remember which one offhand, proved that the church was a pillar of faith, which proves that tradition is just as important as Scripture. He didn't address the whole "new revelation" thing, and he seemed to be going in circles. Needless to say, I haven't converted yet.
