Three books

  • Christ's Churches Purely Reformed: A social history of Calvinism, Philip Benedict
  • Spiritual Emotions: A psychology of Christian virtues, Robert C. Roberts
  • Life is a Miracle: An essay against modern superstition, Wendell Berry

Ok...so did you buy them, read them, burn them...what?

I'm glad to see someone reading Wendell Berry. He's a great author.

Oops! I bought them and just got them in the mail today. I've heard good things about Benedict's book. Roberts was a guest on Mars Hill Audio Journal and I liked the subject, so I figured I'd give it a try. The Berry book was recommended by Ken Myers. That Ken Myers guy is making me spend a lot of money on books!

DG Hart recommends Wendell Berry (I heard that today).

Just a side question, where do you get your books from?

The default is Amazon. Sometimes they send me a damaged book (in fact, the Benedict book is damaged), but I've never had a problem replacing them (the new one is shipping tomorrow). Sometimes I order from Reformation Heritage or WTS, because they have good prices (sometimes better than Amazon). But if they don't carry all the books I want in an order, then I fall back on my default (I always order at least $25 for the free shipping). This time WTS had Benedict's book but not the other two.

Perhaps you should suggest your 3 books to Rae Whitlock who's looking for 3 sermons to preach in the coming weeks...
