Saints Everlasting Rest

I just picked this title up and found that it was 700 pages (Christian Focus Publications) but most other editions are around 200 pages. Does anyone know why there is such a difference in size?

Conscience may lash us, but it cannot replenish a languishing life. Conscience may be God's word and minister to you, telling you of your faults and your follies and your destitution. It may point out, but it will never supply you. Christ must give you new life. Hart has well expressed it: "He to the feeble and the faint, His mighty aid makes known; and when their languid life is spent, supplies it with His own." - J. K. Popham

Most editions of this title are abridged. You are the lucky owner of an unabridged copy. Dr. Packer has stated that one should read the unabridged edition of this classic.

Enjoy!

Thank you for making that clear. Packer does the forward to a different edition but I do recall reading that he suggested you read the full, unabridged edition...

If you haven't listened to it yet, I would highly recommend the Puritan theology series that Dr. Packer did at RTS. He is absolutely fascinating to listen to on the subject of the Puritans. I don't have a direct link for that, but it is available through their iTunesU at:

Sorry to hear that about iTunes. RTS has made many classes available for free through iTunes.

The best I could do is find a link to the syllabus:

http://www.rts.edu/Site/Academics/Do...ogy_Packer.pdf

I do believe that Regent College had the same or a similar set of audio lectures for sale at about $32 US.
