this republic of suffering

anyone read/reading this book on the way people thought about death and dying due to the massive losses during the u.s. civil war?

i think that the civil war begins the rise of secularization in the county, this book helps fill in some blanks in what drove the culture in this direction.

anyhow i'd love to talk to someone about the book.
