Which edition?

Parts 1 and 2? Some people have commented unfavorably on part 2 compared to part 1, but I really don't see their point. The Life and Death of Mr. Badman is sometimes considered part 3. It is worth reading, but isn't as interesting or engaging as Pilgrim's Progress proper.

Pilgrim's Progress truly is one of the best books ever written! Every believer should read it!

I always feel very very badly admitting this...but I cannot stand Pilgrim's Progress. Its NOT the theology, I just hate the writing style. It actually makes me a little sad, because I've only been able to get through it once, and I know friends that have really benefited from reading it multiple times.

I'll be reading it again soon. | Don't neglect Bunyan's HOLY WAR. Whereas PILGRIM'S PROGRESS is an allegory for the objective experience of the Christian walk, HOLY WAR depicts (allegorically) the subjective experience of the Christian's war with sin.

You finished it in 2 hours? Wow. Either I read really really really slowly (which I'm pretty sure I don't) or you are quite speedy.
I got a free copy from a book giveaway at Reformed Voices and I started reading it when I got it but never really finished it. Maybe it's time I did! Thanks for the unintentional reminder.

I also finished this book about 2 weeks ago (both parts). I read it over the course of 5-6 days I think. I thoroughly enjoyed the book!

I love Pilgrims Progress and it has yielded a huge amount of sermon illustrations. I never cease to marvel at Bunyans grasp of doctrine and Christian experience and his characters that portray deep Christian truths. I try and read both parts every second year.

PP is by far my favorite book outside of the Scriptures. I have read it about 3 -4 times and love it. The style may be tough if your not used to the old english style.
