Made Out Well at Half-Price Books Today

I wen to Half-Price Books today and got all of the following for $35 (after taxes!):

1. A Six Volume set of Matthew Henry's Commentaries (Hendrickson, 1991)
2. Theology of Prayer by B.M. Palmer (Sprinkle Publications)
3. Thy Word is Truth by E.J. Young (Banner of Truth Trust)

All were in great condition except for one minor flaw on volume 4 of the Henry Commentaries.

It is God that multiplies our sorrows....
God, as a righteous Judge, does it, which ought to silence us under all our sorrows; as many as they are, we have deserved them all, and more: nay, God, as a tender Father, does it for our necessary correction, that we may be humbled for sin, and weaned from the world by all our sorrows; and the good we get by them, with the comfort we have under them, will abundantly balance our sorrows, how greatly soever they are multiplied. - Matthew Henry

Arrghhh. Just just reminded me that HPB was having a 20% off sale yesterday, and I missed it.

Of course, I'm all caught up on my book reading and have room for reading tons and tons more!

They always have copies of The Purpose Driven Life for $1 or $2. I even once saw a copy of Theognome's favorite book: Benny Hinn's Good Morning, Holy Spirit. I could get one of those for you.

My favorite is their half of half sale. Then I use my 10% teacher discount too.

Hey, hey, HEY! You stay out of the Bluemound store; that's where I've been treasure hunting!

I, too, took advantage of the 20% off sale. I found:

Contemplating Aquinas
The Cambridge Companion to Aquinas
Philosophy For Dummies
Logic and Contempory Rhetoric (9th edition)
Elements of Argument (6th edition)
The Consequences of Ideas (R.C. Sproul)
The Portable Atheist
The Problems of Philosophy (Bertrand Russell)
Why I Am NOT A Christian (Bertrand Russell)

All for about 75$. I never knew about this store until reading a thread about it here. Woohoo!
