Which Calvin Institutes?

The one translated by Henry Beveridge is 16.99 at Monergism:

Institutes of the Christian Religion (Hendrickson) :: John Calvin (1509-1564) :: Classic Authors :: Monergism Books

The one translated by McNeill is 51.99 at Monergism:

Institutes of the Christian Religion (2 Vol Set) :: John Calvin (1509-1564) :: Classic Authors :: Monergism Books

Is the one by McNeill that much better!?

I have both, but prefer the Beveridge edition over the McNeil set.

I've been told that McNeil is a better translation, but I find Beveridge easier to read.

I don't know...apples and oranges?

The Beveridge edition has recently been reprinted by Hendrickson. It's been completely reset in modern type and has been "gently edited" (their words), which probably means that capitalization and punctuation have been modernized. Also, Beveridge's footnote references have been updated, I believe.

It also includes Warfield's famous introduction, I believe.

I've seen it for sale for $22. It's a large hardback.
