Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the LORD your God.

The practical expositor, or, An exposition of the New Testament -- John Guyse

The practical expositor, or, An exposition of the New Testament by John Guyse, English Dissenting minister (1680 - 1761) is available online below. John Brown of Haddington says of him: "The best commentaries are those of...Guise...Scarcely is any other so thoroughly evangelical, and so attentive to the connection, as Guise." Edward Williams says: "If this work has not an air of elegant criticism and modern refinement, like the Family Expositor, it is very sound and judicious; expressed in a style significant, perspicuous, and correct, though not ornamented."
