| | | Two "atta boys/girls" and three "congrats" on the line
This thread is NOT for those who perceive watching the Super Bowl on Sunday as sin. If that's you, please disregard this thread, as it may be a stumbling block. If more comments are perceived as necessary, please go to National Super-Sabbath Breaking Sunday? or start your own thread. Thank you.
The purpose of this thread IS to poke, jab and "lovingly" tease one another. But no coarse jesting. Quote:

Steelers = | Well, I never understand the spread, ever. I think what that means is that you believe the Cardinals will not lose by more than seven?
So if they win, or lose by anything up to six, then you win?
I'm going to say that the Cards will lose and sure, by seven or more! (I know how very unlikely this is in a Superbowl, but I am risky with my atta boys and Congratulations!) |
Okay, I've been saving my atta boys/gilrs and congrats, but I don't think I'll need them. With seven points I figure it's in the bag. But even without the points, I'm looking forward to seeing the Cards go to Disneyland. So, Jessica, be prepared to pay up.
Feel free to weigh in, even if you're an "atta boy" pincher or stingy with your "congrats."

Sorry for any confusion.
At a place I worked many moons ago employees would get honorable mention in the form of "atta boys." They really didn't get any reward, other than this commendation.
Transfer this to Sunday's game. I'm really not much of a gambler. So, at the risk of being humbled, I will pay Jessica (he beholds) two "atta girls" and three "congratulations" if the Steelers win (by 7 or more). I suppose it's a way of betting without really putting anything on the line.
So, you want in? Whatcha got? I'll wager 1 big fat "[insert team] is number 1" that the big bad birds ding the steelheads, or at least lose by less than 7 (current spread is 6.5). If the cards win, or even lose by six, you have to pay up with a passionate "THE CARDINALS ARE NUMBER ONE!" Heh, think you are up to it? -----Added 1/31/2009 at 03:34:38 EST-----
Say what you want about the Cards, Kurt's got class. Whether Kurt Warner wins or loses Sunday’s Super Bowl as quarterback of the Arizona Cardinals, he will leave the field and immediately do one thing.
He will praise God.

Well, Joe it would seem that no one is very excited about the game! I'm thinking it's cuz the Packers aren't playing!

Apparently Honor got cold feet. That's okay, I don't blame her. [goad] You still have until kickoff to commit. This forum is closed on game day, so tonight might be your last chance to back your bravado.
Jessi's been quiet. Perhaps she regrets putting so much on the line. Well, we'll take care of this Monday...
Sarah, I'm expecting you'll be rooting for the birds with me, eh? That get's you a free "atta girl."
Ya'll have a blessed Lord's Day.

You you mean the Cardinals! Let's see. I get a "atta girl". Well, what the heck! I won't ever get one from you again... might as well take it when I can! |

Honestly, I don't care who wins..most of my family is from PA, so they are all Steelers Fan's, even to the point many of them flew down (even without having tickets) so they can be around the 'excitement' of the fans..I even tried to convince some of my cousins to bring their dad down and let him come up here and visit with us and he could go to church with us...But alas not to be..
But I also know they have won many Super Bowls (even if with other players) so for that reason alone I think it would be great to see the first time in the Super Bowl Cardinals win..
So no matter who win's....it will be fine..

I don't care at all about football, although I'd probably watch if the Panthers were playing!
But I am definitely for the Cardinals for one simple reason...Kurt Warner will have the opportunity to publicly give the glory to God for the win. It is just about the only circumstance that it is allowed. For some reason, the media lets the sports heros say whatever they want...so I believe the Lord gives the game sometimes to the ones who give honor and praise to Him.
Think of the tens of thousands of unbelievers who may hear the hope that is within Kurt Warner!!! My prayer is that they will! So I'll be watching at the end of the game, for sure, if the Cardinals are winning!

Okay,
Jessi - I have two "atta boy"s and three "Congratulations" coming. I prefer individual posts please, and can't make change.
Jessica - I get 6 "atta boy"s from you. Plus, I had originally proposed one "THE CARDINALS ARE NUMBER ONE!," (post 3) but it might not have come across. Pay if compelled on that one. That would be particularly painful. Again, I prefer individual posts. And I don't make change.
See post number 9 for example of proper atta boys.
Thank you. And congratulations. The Steelers are the world champions.
