So as not to hijack the less important Christmas/Easter thread.......
Are there many golfers or golf fans on the PB? Have any of you, besides Lawrence, played Augusta National?
The Masters was a big event in my house growing up. My kids are learning to love it and will probably do so before my wife.
Now Lawrence, how did you get to play Augusta and how can I repeat those steps?

The Masters is my favorite sporting event to watch.
My Dad is going to a Practice Round this year. I have put in for the lottery for practice round tickets for years but have never got them. Just once..I would like to walk the course.
I would love to hear the story of how Lawrence got to play the course.

Here you go: I have a relative who is very good friends with a member. They had an opening for a round. I got an invitation. I got the phone call late the night before.
'Hey Lawrence. Do you think you can get out of the office tomorrow?'
'Sure, why?'
'Well, I'm going to be in your area and thought we could shoot a round.'
'That would be great. Do you want to play Magnolia Grove or Springhill? I can set up the tee time in the morning.'
'Actually, I already have a tee time. It is at 8:30.'
'Great. Which course?'
'Augusta'
' . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . What?'
'I said, "Augusta", as in Augusta National Golf Club.'
'Um, yeah. Yes. YES! I can be there!'
I got up very early, drove like mad, and played one of the best worst rounds of golf in my life. I'll never forget it.

Mike, welcome to the PB! As part of the Board rules, please fix your signature according: Quote:
All members of the Puritanboard must have a minimal "signature" in their User Control Panel that includes the following items:
First Name (or nickname)
Ministry Position (if you are a Church Office holder)
Denominational Affiliation
State of Residence
A signature would look like this:
William
Ruling Elder, PCA
Fort Worth, TX
| In other words, please post your denominational affiliation, your position in your church (if you hold one), and any other info you might wish to include!

A good friend of mine got to play Oakmont last summer. He said he was afraid to use his Irons in the fairway...
Weather is finally getting nice enough to play around here. I love playing Golf...
