Tecmo Bowl was one of the few video games I ever played and enjoyed.

Ah yes, back in the good ol' days when you didn't need 8 degrees to figure out how to play a sports game

Man, I LOVED that game as a boy. Fortunately, my parents would only let me play it sparingly as I would have undoubtedly been addicted.

Just three other fans of Tecmo Bowl on the whole board???
I suppose someone is going to get on here and make a case for one of these new generation games, like Madden.
Give me the classics anyday over this new stuff they've got out.

The recent MLB Power Pro's (and its sequel coming out in a couple of days ) for the Wii and PS2 is really awesome. It is a fully featured baseball game, with all the stats, dynasty modes, rpg mode, seasons, playoffs, etc. It has everything all the standard baseball games have and more. PLUS, it is pick up and play. Super simple controls. Learned how to play in about 5 minutes! The only downside (though I love it!) is that the characters all look cartoony. Though they are cartoony versions of the actual players so that's really cool! I bring it up because it is the first video sports game since Tecmo which is truly addictive, simple (yet complex in it's simplicity), and SO MUCH FUN!!!

I used to play the ol Tecmo bowl alot. Firmly established in my mind is the memory of winning an ever crucial game with a last second kickoff return as the clock ran out. Good times.
