Six Nations Rugby

The six nations begins today; after just missing out last year, I would love to say that Ireland will win the tournament at last, but we will be doing well to avoid the wooden spoon.

Hey you dingbats - the question asked who WILL win, not who in your wildest dreams would win

I am totally not into sports, whether they be American or British, and have no idea what rugby is - is it similar to our American football?

It is more violent, requires more endurance, and generally is more fun to watch.

Well, it is played with an oval ball, but the main difference is that you are not allowed to forward pass, and the ball must literally be touched down in the "end-zone".

Go Rugby!

Sorry Jonathan and Richard....

What a comeback over the host English at Twickenham... (Love the fact I could listen to the match on Radio Wales!)

What they actually won; I saw a bit of the match in Belfast before I had to get the bus home and they were 19-6 down.

A little whisky will make the Scotland team seem much better
As I don't like the stuff, I guess I will just have to grin and bear it.

I was at Murrayfield several times and always enjoyed the atmosphere- even if, on the rare occasion- we lost!

Really? The match actually starts at 9:00am Eastern....

of course, we have no TV reception or cable, so ... I guess I'll just
have to listen on BBC Radio Wales online

It's probably a delayed feed on Setanta. I know the game will actually have been over for hours before I get to see it. I'll just have to stay off of the PB untill after I watch the game so it wont be spoiled for me.

For the Americans in the thread please refrain from placing the word "team" in front of the Country name.

Thanks...

I see that only two of the six teams listed are from the continent, but where are the Germans??

This may explain the old adage about Baptists being Methodists with shoes, and Presbyterians being Baptists who can read. To round out the adage, Lutherans might qualify as Presbyterians who drink to excess, and Episcopalians as Lutherans who know when to say when. - D.G. Hart

They are no good at Rugby; it used to be six nations until Italy were admitted a few years ago.
