The Road to San Antonio

As the 2007-2008 college basketball season begins, the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill has been ranked #1 in the preseason USA Today/ESPN college basketball coaches poll. So in honor of the Tar Heels, here's a clip showing appreciation for the 2005 national champions.

What can I say, I was born in Chapel Hill, went to UNC-CH, and have Carolina blue blood flowing through my veins.

I root for UVA often ('cept against the Tar Heels), sometimes Maryland (I used to live in College Park) but rarely-to-never Georgetown (I do so enjoy watching the 1982 and 1985 national championship games).

Well, we know LSU took a left turn and got off the road sometime in the preseason apparently. They are losers of 8 straight games and are 0-5 in the SEC.

My Baylor Bears are ranked and top of the Big 12 South after humiliating the Texas A&M Aggies in College Station after 5 overtimes a few nights ago.

Congrats on your teams success this season, Andrew. North Carolina is definitely one of about 8-10 teams that can win it all this year.

And though the really inspired artist may complain that, with the majority, piano-playing is mere strumming, and painting little more than daubing, yet, the exuberant feeling of having a share in the privileges of art is so overwhelming, that the scorn of the artist is preferred to the abandonment of art training in education. To have laid a production of your own, however poor, upon the altar of art becomes more and more the characteristic of an accomplished civilization. - Abraham Kuyper

Pretty good game, huh? Belmont almost pulled it out, but they just didn't quite have enough. It's amazing how the big schools like Duke and UNC perform under pressure when it matters most.

And I gotta say, Coach K is a pretty classy act. He never shows the other team up, and he seems like he really cares about the kids.
