| | | I'm rooting for Jackson but I wouldn't count Chuck out. I used to promote an MMA event in Texas called "The Xtreme Shootout". I had Tito Ortiz & Mikey Burnett come down & even had Kazuyuki Fujita fight for me in Killeen. I was there when Chuck got choked out by Horn (right ON the octagon). I never thought Chuck was any good maybe a grade B fighter but he's come a LONG way. Still don't like him so I hope Rampage KO's him. Tito Ortiz is a personal friend of mine. He came down to ref 2 shows for me & even had a fighter fight at my shows. Great guy.

| | | I watched the fight. As I recall, it was a right hook, but I might be mistaken. It only took two minutes, if that.
Rampage got Chuck out of his game (my opinion); two times in the first minute or so, when Chuck was doing his usual crabwalk, waiting to counterpunch, Rampage kinda threw his hands up in the air in a "Come on man, fight" kinda way.
Chuck started being more aggressive, went for a really sloppy body shot, and got clocked good and proper. He fell down, Page jumped on top of him and gave him two or three punches/hammerfists (I forget), and after the second or third one Chuck's body stiffened up and the fight was stopped.

| | Have you guys seen the first fight between these two? Jackson won then as well. Chuck is a great fighter but not that good of a boxer, his hands are too low and his punches are loopy. If you're a wrestler his style works perfectly, he'll stuff your shots and drop bombs. It was Jackson's style that won. www.sherdog.com www.mmaweekly.com

I wasn't surprised at all. I hope Hendo beats him silly though.
BTW were you the one who told me about Fedor in another thread? I watched an hour's worth of youtube highlights and read up on him. It made me feel like I knew nothing whatsoever about MMA, hahaha. | I want to see a rematch between Fedor and Cro Cop.

There are a lot of reasons that people lose. You can be a superior fighter and lose pretty easily. Anyone can get caught, if that happens that is pretty much it. There are also variations in rules and different strategies to use in different rings.
Also in comparison to boxing, upsets will always happen more in MMA. For one, once you are knocked down, you get no recovering time. Your opponent just pounces on you and if you are slightly disoriented, you are in a bad way very quickly.
Cro cop has lost before and he has also avenged himself before. When this happened, was he just horrible and learned a lot in the intervening time?

| | | MMA isn't boxing, anything can happen in MMA and it often does. This year started off with upsets and it looks like they'll continue. I think the Octagon had a lot to do with CroCop getting ko'ed, the elbows didn't help either. In Pride they use a ring and are not allowed to elbow, CroCop was pull on his back against a fence and elbowed for a couple of min. That had to have something to do with it. |

| | | Cro Cop just fought way to defensively. Counter puncher during that fight. Reminded of Pedro Rizzo. Someone with TOO much firepower & they don't even use it. What a shame.
As for Tito yep, he's the one that's going out with Jenna Jameson. I brought Tito & his then fiancee (his ex wife) down & we went to the beach & hung out. They seemed so happy & everything. I guess becoming a big name & a Millionaire chenged everything for him. |
