I predict LSU

Well it is that time for College Football lovers to enter a despairing time of season. The Football Season is coming to a close and withdrawal will be difficult but we will rise again (LORD willing) next August.

LSU vs. Ohio State.

I predict LSU. Especially if their defence shows up.

Much of the state of Louisiana has rallied for LSU. I walked into a supermarket and the entire store (about 300 people) wore purple and gold, including the cashiers. State loyalty and enthusiasm is still strong in the South. It is doubtful abstractions about "Union" could produce such enthusiasm!

Seriously, about a month ago I would have said OSU by 21, but now I expect LSU by 3.

OSU loyalty is pretty strong. Ticket reports say it's nearly 50/50 in the stadium tonight.

They are playing according to LSU style: very badly for the beginning of the game.

True enough, but they aren't playing Tulane tonight.

I guess forcing OSU to kick a field goal is sort of good. As long as they can hang in there until the 4th qtr.

They are (sort of) playing too well too early in the game.

17 unanswered points from LSU after spotting OSU a 10-0 lead early on.

OSU just scored; and there is still 18 minutes left.

Er...they didn't score. It just looked like it.

Right, and now it's 4th down....and they score! That helps but they are still down 14 and LSU moves the ball at will.

Well at least it isn't like last years total blow out. LSU is only two touchdowns ahead at this point.

OSU has a chance to get within 7 but fumbles while going for it on 4th down. LSU gets the ball but goes 3 and out. OSU must score this drive!

4th and one-OSU makes it...barely (I still say they are going to blow this, it's just too much of a "struggle" for them)
