Houston Nutt resigns

Coach Houston Nutt just ended a 10 year career as the head coach of the University of Arkansas. There is much speculation that he will be the next head coach at Ole Miss.

My son gave me a heads-up this afternoon that he expected that to be the outcome. All of the partners in his law firm (and most of the associates) hold season tickets. He said that the fans have been quite antagonistic to Nutt since the departure of some key personnel during the past year.

Oh well. Woo pig sooie?

Many people would also apparently want Les Miles out at LSU after 3 consecutive 10 win seasons, which has never been done before. People are unrealistic IMO if they expect Arkansas to win 10+ games every year and win the SEC West every year.

For many in the South especially, football is a kind of civil religion. My

Dallas Morning News reports that Nutt's agent contacted Baylor University two weeks ago with an interest in their head coaching vacancy, could be interesting to see if he chose to come to the Big 12 and help revive the hapless Baylor Bears.
