| | | Help Me Name My Fantasy Team
It's almost time for baseball season again, which means it's almost time for fantasy baseball season. Yes, that means I'm sort of a geek, but it's also about the only hobby I have.
I always try to come up with a clever/humorous name for my team. In the past, I've often used "hip" movie references, so I've had names like "Skokie Quartets" (from The Usual Suspects) and "Mitch&Murray Closers" (from Glengary Glen Ross). I've used Shakespearean references a couple of times ("Melancholy Danes" and "Cawdor Thanes"). I've also used cultural commentary, once referencing an urban myth (" Choking Dobermans") and once referencing one of the greatest hoaxes in American history (" Cardiff Giants").
This year, I thought I would go with something reference the camp meetings that took place in Kentucky at Cane Ridge. I'm listed some choices I'm considering in the poll. I think I'm limited by number of characters in a name (either 18 or 20). If you have other suggestions, please list those.
Also, if you are interested in fantasy baseball and would like to join a league, PM me. I have a group of friends who do this every year, running a NL-only league on Yahoo with a live draft. We are almost always a couple of spots short. Last season we opened those spots to the public and that didn't go too well. -----Added 2/5/2009 at 05:21:27 EST-----

Be still, my soul: thy Jesus can repay From His own fullness all He takes away." "Long my imprisoned spirit lay,
Fast bound in sin and nature’s night;
Thine eye diffused a quickening ray—
I woke, the dungeon flamed with light;
My chains fell off, my heart was free,
I rose, went forth, and followed Thee." | | The Following User Says Thank You to ServantofGod For This Useful Post: | |

Well, there is a Richmond, KY not too far from Cane Ridge. Maybe we can put the (West) Richmond Rebels there!
