Saw this article this morning. This looks so cool. Not sure how this will all work out.
After watching a few movies on in 3D, I can't wait to watch football in 3D.

After watching a few movies on in 3D, I can't wait to watch football in 3D.
In the parlance of the industry ESPN has just "jumped the shark".
I had HD for a while about a year ago. Some channels it was not a big difference but then other channels it was night and day. Sports is the best thing to watch in HD hands down. THe installer even told me that becuase HD looks best when there is more movement. I was blown away watching some football games becuase it was so clear and there were so many details! It looked so good I even watched sporting events that I didn't really care for like basketball games etc.
But if you're not a huge sports fan but still considering HD, don't worry it is mind-blowing on other channels too. Two that come to mind are Food Network and anything showing lots of nature. Travel channel was cool if they would be visiting a beautiful location. FoodNetwork would look so crisp and clear that I would get hungry watching it.
HD in one thing, 3D is a whole new level.
I've read two tech articles in the last week (and took a national survey) about 3D tv, so I'm not so sure. Would I pay more for it? Nope, but I haven't bought an HD tv yet, either, so I'm not the demographic in question. Many consumers will buy something merely because it's touted, even with minimal difference in quality.Quote:

I like one of the comments to the article, "I hope 3D TVs catch on. It will make the price of HDTV go down and I might be able to finally afford one."
I saw the movie Avatar in 3D and it was unbelievable. My Dad made the comment that 3D could potentially become the "color televison" of the 21st century.
I had seen movies in 3D years ago but they were "gimmicky" if you know what I mean. I was completely blown away by what I saw in Avatar. At the end of the movie, I felt like I had actually been in the movie and it was an experience unlike any other movie.
The possibilities are endless with 3D movies and sports. Can you imagine a movie like "Saving Private Ryan" in 3D?
My first 3D movie was Beouwulf. It was amazing. Digital 3D is light years ahead of IMAX 3D.
I wanted to watchy that Valentine horror flick in 3D. Being in 3D would have really made the fear factor go up.
