    College Basketball 2008 - 2009

The North Carolina Tar Heels had a good news / bad news week. Tyler Hansbrough is out for some time with stress on his right shin, after Marcus Ginyard was lost for 8 weeks due to surgery on his foot. But they received the first-ever unanimous preseason No. 1 ranking in the AP poll yesterday too. High expectations this year. We shall see. Go Heels!

North Carolina the first unanimous preseason No. 1 - College Basketball - Rivals.com (October 31, 2008)

I would enjoy this sport if Penn State would be any good. I fear they are never going to be. They have the money to go get a good coach I don't know why they won't do that.

Looks like another stud freshman class for Ohio State. That means another season of a bunch of one and done's with no title to show for it.

Thad Matta is a big time recruiter. Too bad he can't keep these big time recruits for more than one season.

Well as an Indiana fan I am not going to have much to cheer about this year, but thankfully they finally got the right coach there to turn things around in time.

What they did to Stephen Curry is laughable and memorable; I hope this doesn't happen again though.

UConn Huskies don't look too bad again this year. So, I'll have to "stay with the home team!"

I think it's UNC's year. Wouldn't surprise me if they run the table this season.

Adam, Penn State might be better than usual this season. They have several good guards, and managed a win over Georgia Tech on the road. We'll see what happens when conference play starts...

Congrats to Tyler Hansbrough for breaking UNC's all-time scoring record tonight, previously held by Phil Ford. I remember when Phil came to my school in 1977. As a player he was always a class act, and so is Tyler.
