Champions League Semi-Finals

We have now reached the semi-final stage of the Champions League, the fixtures are:

Liverpool vs. Chelsea

Barcelona vs. Manchester United

With the second legs to be played next week.

I hope Liverpool win the tournament.

I'm a Liverpool supporter, and quietly confident about this year's competition. We disposed of Arsenal much as I expected. A Liverpool - ManU final would be exciting; the two closest teams geographically ever to meet, an the first time the final would be contested by local rivals.

As a Scot this champions league is a total disaster. It is bad enough having an English team win it but to have three in the semi's is more than I can cope with. Barca really need to win it this year.

Yes; he co-owns it with George Gillette, but there has been a major controversy between the two recently as Hicks wants to buy Gillette out, while Gillette wants to sell to Dubai International. Moreover, Hicks called upon the Chief Executive Rick Parry to resign.

Really sad, even though I didn't get to watch the match.

A local sports radio guy who does the afternoon show is a huge Lioverpool fan and will watch the games while he does his talk show. Well yesterday was all about NFL player Draft talk and he would break in with "Oh my Goodness" every 5 seconds it was quite a fun time. When Riise scored that own goal he just stopped talking and said, "We are going to commercial".

Much as you expected eh? You didnt dispose of us, the referee did. One penalty for - not given. One penalty against - given. You were lucky. But your luck is running out, scousers. Hahaahahahaha!

It may interest you to know that the guy who runs the Thomas Goodwin blog used to play for Arsenal's youth team...but he is a Liverpool supporter.

Just got finished watching Barcelona and Manchester United play to a scoreless draw. Barcelona seemed to have possession most of the time but couldn't get it done.

Not sure he could have hit it much worse...hard to say who should be more embarrassed: him or Riise?

Like I said, going by previous competitions, it went much as I expected.

And I think the refereeing went against us last night. Terry had a late caution, and could easily have had an earlier caution and then been sent off.
