| | | Angleball - Invitation to Jackson MS Folks
The men's rally thread made me realize that there are several Jackson area guys on the board.
If anybody is looking for some good fun and exercise on a Saturday, come to Laurel Park in the Belhaven neighborhood at 3:00 and play Angleball with us.
What is Angleball you ask? It's a game that was introduced to Belhaven College by the legendary Dr. Wynn Kenyon in the early 80s. It was originally created by a football coach at Penn State as a conditioning game for the off season. It's kind of a mix between soccer and basketball. You kind of have to see it, but the object is to knock a really big four-square ball off a pole with a small soccar ball (thrown, not kicked).
Anyway, it's good fun, and pretty much anyone can play (it can get competitive, but don't let that scare you). As I mentioned in another thread, there are guys in their upper 40s playing every week. Kids as young as 8 can play as well. Women are also welcome. There is a dedicated group who have been playing every week for years, but a lot of times we struggle to get enough players for a good game. So if anyone is interested, come out at 3:00 this Saturday (games will start at 4:00 after day-light savings).
Feel free to PM me for more info or directions.

Oh, and if you have them, bring cleats, especially if it rains!
