Sweet Nothing in My Ear

As one who has received (failed) cochlear implants for deafness, I am interested in this movie. However, it is coming on on the Lord's Day, so I won't be watching it. Has anyone heard much about it? Thoughts?

Last I checked being deaf was not a "culture" but a deficiency in normal hearing.

I also do not hear well, but do not understand the push for a "deaf culture" that fights against a "cure" for deafness.

Within the 'truly deaf' culture you are not truly deaf unless both of your parents are deaf as well. Those folks tend to look down on the not so truly deaf. A fun book to read is Jeffrey Deaver's book 'A Maiden's Grave'. You can get a great thriller about hostage negotiation as well as learn about deaf culture. Great book if you like crime thrillers with lots of plot twists.
