| | Red flag on "The Golden Compass"
Not sure if this is common knowledge or not, but I saw this on the Urban Legends page (the only secular news that's fit to read... ) Urban Legends Reference Pages: The Golden Compass
Based on the least offensive book by this atheist author, it has to do with Adam and Eve killing God and then doing whatever their wicked little hearts desire.
Stars Nicole Kidman.
Worst part - it's targeted at kids.
No need to draw Mom and Dad away from the Word. Just skip right to the kids.

Atheist are odd.....their point is to say there is no God, right? I always wonder why Atheist TALK about God so much since they feel He does not exist! They talk about God more than some Christians. I know the Hindu "god" Ganesh does not exist....you don't find me talking and yapping and writing and doing movies about Ganesh!

Warner Brothers is already gearing up to turn these into a film series.

A movie call "The 10" flopped, "The DaVinci Code' was only a modest success stateside, it made a killing in Europe however, "Evan Almighty" tanked bigtime.
I think the Golden Compass will do the same if the Adam and Eve thing remains in the script.

In the book, God is happy to be killed. Enoch has been keeping him prisoner in a sort of a coffin.

From teaching mothers to kill their children to teaching children to kill God.
This State cannot and will not stand much longer as is.

I've read these books. I use to work in a bookstore and I was recommended them. This was before they were in any semblance popular. I think the 3rd book had just come out (I was in high school). At the time I thought they were cool because they used Christian imagery and themes (though in a messed up way) and were fantasy mixed with science fiction like the Final Fantasy video game series. Now that I am older and wiser I can see the sinister intentions of the author. Philip Pullman hates God and anything to do with him. Very sad.

Use A-list actors from America, Britain and France. The story line is driven by an American character but set in historic sites in Europe. How could viewers on both continents resist.

It is one of the few American films Red China didn't censor as well, blasphemy sits well with Beijing.
That being said a sequel is in the works, I recently declined an invitation to join the crew, it will be less successful than the first.
