I was raised on that movie from the age of two! Yeah, I know, lots of bad stuff in the movie - I had strange parents. But I turned out alright!

We saw that movie. Agree, a lot of bad stuff. Somewhat of a disappointment having seen The Buddy Holly Story.

Same here, raised with this movie and lets not forget Dirty Dancing. When I saw La Bamba I thought Lou Dimond Phillips was such a good actor...LOL! (I was young)

You know, as much as I love what Gary Busey did, it's a shame that the movie was so inaccurate. So much that the real people who knew Buddy Holly asked to have their names changed in the movie.
