    Knowing - Nicolas Cage

    Knowing - with Nicolas Cage.

A boy (Ben Mendelsohn) is given an envelope that has been unpacked from a 50 year old time capsule. In the envelope is a piece of paper containing nothing but numbers, with no apparent meaning. When the boy's father (Nicolas Cage) begins to look more closely he determines that the numbers seem to be predictions of disasters. Also with Lara Robinson, Rose Byrne and Chandler Canterbury. Directed by Alex Proyas. [1:55]

Cool eh? Its not waht the movie is about. That's a lie.

    Let me fix this.

    Anti-Christ.

    Anti-biblical.

A group of producers, directors, and actors create a new way to get you, the avid "thrill junkie" into a movie that is not really about diasters (though the trailer looks that way), but about the disasters as warnings given by aliens who look alot like Daniel's vision of the wheel inside a wheel because aliens from another planet that seeded the earth before see that a solar flare is going to destroy the earth so they come and steal away a few people (young children) to seed a new planet while all of life is destroyed here on earth and so a new Adam and Eve are see by the tree of life on the new planet at the end.

Yes, I spoiled the movie. It was a COMMERCIAL FOR DIANETICS that was REALLY LONG.

Don't waste a dollar. Don't even watch the trailer. Its not worth it.

They make you think its about "numbers" when all along they don't tell you its about aliens and seeding and recreation....blah blah blah.

    too late.

my husband and I literally just got back from seeing the movie. He didn't like it. We spent a while discussing what the hidden meanings in it were.

There were a lot of horrible deaths that were portrayed graphically and sensationally. Could haunt you if you are sensitive.

I'd never heard of it either and I'm disappointed that C. Matthew's review was so ambiguous. I'd really like to know what he thinks of the movie before I decide to see it or not.

Yes, Tim. It grates on one after a while to read through all the folks' posts, realizing that they all beat around the bush too much. Everyone on this board is way too tactful!

I saw the film last night. It was indeed what the review says...

First of all, it was simply a poor film. Poorly scripted. Poor effects. Awful Plot.

It was also written from a completely warped world view. Not only that, but the deaths are done in such a way it is haunting.... they are terrible, yet almost ignored. People burning to death, etc... all while Nic Cage is walking around without a care. I was disconcerted even while walking out of the theater. One of the worst films ive ever seen.

Cool eh? Its not waht the movie is about. That's a lie.

    Let me fix this.

    Anti-Christ.

    Anti-biblical.
At least it's explicit. Would you prefer that people go to their other weekend options of Anti-Christ, Anti-biblical movies that have more subtle and persuasive lies?

I am so glad you posted this!! I was very interested in this movie because of the trailer and I like Nick Cage... I would have walked out of the theater...

Went last night with my kid.

"People burning to death, etc... all while Nic Cage is walking around without a care."...um, he told his friend how horribly haunted he was by the memories in his mind of them burning...so he didn't get real visibly emotional but maybe he's a Presby, not a charismatic

Anyway, we both enjoyed it and I had a great time talking with son on the way home. I talked about how PERFECTLY they portrayed the deception of aliens here to save us who are really fallen angels, and how angels appear as men, and fallen angels as beings emanating light. We had a great conversation.

I'd rather watch a movie like this where the father is trying so hard to do anything to save his son, and is a man of action and proactive effort, than half the garbage out there with no occult, no swearing, and no violence but the Fathers/men are jerks.

Saw it. Wish I hadn't. It was VERY creepy and graphic for being PG 13. Blasphemous in how they twisted Scripture. The last scene of the boy and girl running through the field toward the tree of life was TOTALLY over the top.

Actually, I'm on another message board and a poster suggested that it has a strong biblical message and that it's a good movie to take unbelieving friends to see...I pointed out the alien/panspermia thing in response...his response was that he basically didn't see it that way. Either way, I'm with you.
