Never heard of her? Most people haven't, probably - unless you're a fan of Roger Corman films from the '50s and '60s.
She was what was called, at the time, a "scream queen." Her job in the popular horror films she made was basically to shriek in fear and die horrible deaths - while always making sure her cleavage was bountifully on display.
Perhaps her best known film was "The Raven" (1963), which also starred Vincent Price, Boris Karloff, and Peter Lorre. She also appeared in such scary flicks as "The Premature Burial," "The Masque of the Red Death," "The Curse of Frankenstein," and "Devil Girl from Mars" - all by Corman, I believe.
She died on April 15 (scary tax day, appropriately enough!), at 82.
Ah, the "scream queen." Good times, good times...
RIP (I hope).
