I saw the movie Bella tonight. The orientation was subtlely Roman Catholic. The movie did not fall into the trap of too much pschobabble which we see in many chick films. The proadoption / antiabortion message was powerful. The portrayal of self centeredness and selfishness as being at the heart of our proabort culture was even more powerfull

I strongly agree. It's a remarkable film, and it is particularly intriguing because it really requires the viewer to have or at least understand and recognize the presence of the idea of agape love within a Christian worldview. If one does not recognize or acknowledge agape love, then Bella is an idealistic, rather sappy film. But if one does have that worldview, it's a powerful film that calls us to love those around us sacrificially.
