American Renaissance

I have written a short Capraesque romantic comedy complete with Astaire like ball room dancing scenes that has recently been funded with a modest budget of $25,000 and as of now is being scheduled to begin shooting in August or September as we are now in preproduction.

The exciting part is Tom Hanks, yes Tom Hanks may do a walk-on cameo in it! How fun is that, I get to write, direct and act in a small independent feature and possibly share some screen time with Tom Hanks.

Anyhow once the movie is completed I will make sure it is on-line for Puritanboard folk to watch.

It is pretty much a an updated tip of the hat to the Frank Capra classic "It Happened One Night" thus I chose the title "American Renaissance" for this throw back style of film making which I promise will be absolutely fun to watch.

Stay tuned, this is going to be a blast.

-Travis

I can hear me now,

I knew Travis Speegle back when

...well I didn't technically know him but I was on this bulletin board with him and I read a lot of stuff he wrote. Did I tell you about the time he was locked in his room? Oh wait, I am saving that story for the tabloids.

No kidding! I wonder if that episode of his life will feature in this comedy. By the time the tabloids get done with that one it will be a 2-month captivity by Martians! Oh, wait, that's the Enquirer...

Maybe you can get Bruce and Max to do a cameo as well!

Travis,

You do realize this would mean you would now be only 1 degree from Kevin Bacon, as Tom Hanks starred in Apollo 13 with Kevin Bacon, which is one degree closer than me.

I was Tevye in my high school production of "Fiddler on the Roof". Can I do a cameo?

You go, bro! Hey, whatever you do, don't get Cousin Sirmon to do a walk on. I'm not sure we could handle listening to him say: "Git er done."
