Camp Psalms!

A few weeks back some people from various churches (including my own) had a 4 day camping trip. While there they were able to record a few of the Psalms they sang, and I thought I'd provide links to them here. The audio is great, but some of the words are hard to distinguish, so you may want to have a Psalter nearby to follow along.

Very beautiful singing, I hope you enjoy!

Psalm 1
Psalm 24
Psalm 44
Psalm 89
Psalm 107
Psalm 108
Psalm 133

It is God that multiplies our sorrows....
God, as a righteous Judge, does it, which ought to silence us under all our sorrows; as many as they are, we have deserved them all, and more: nay, God, as a tender Father, does it for our necessary correction, that we may be humbled for sin, and weaned from the world by all our sorrows; and the good we get by them, with the comfort we have under them, will abundantly balance our sorrows, how greatly soever they are multiplied. - Matthew Henry

Josh, I can't seem to open these on my "Mac"...I am technically challenged. I have been looking for more Psalms to listen to...any suggestions?

Sorry, Melissa, they're in WMA format, and that's probably why. As for Psalm resources, I don't know about free, but there are downloadable albums at:

Crown and Covenant Publications- Psalms, Psalters, and Psalm-Singing. (of course I would suggest waiting until tomorrow before purchasing)

If you can't get an audio or video file open on any platform, VLC usually does the trick: VLC media player - Open Source Multimedia Framework and Player

I'd recommend installing that to listen to the WMAs. It's a free program with no strings and it works really well.

This was a wonderful event. It was a great blessing for our family to attend. The Psalms were recorded in a large meeting room with vaulted wood ceilings and a wood floor. The acoustics were perfect for a cappella singing. It was a lodge that overlooked a rock cliff with a lake below.

Rev. Koller, I wish I could have gone. I look forward to seeing you and yours again. I love your profile pic. I still have pictures of her on my phone. She's such a cutie!

One of these days, Lord Willing, you will too! But there's always family worship.

Absolutely delightful. For me there is nothing quite like hearing God's people sing the psalms (and from the very dear Scottish Psalter as well!). Thanks for sharing.

FYI, the format has been changed to MP3 so that more people can listen (and it's also better quality)

Psalm 1
Psalm 24
Psalm 44
Psalm 89
Psalm 107
Psalm 108
Psalm 133

The songs of the Lord well-sung! What refreshment! The Triune God be praised!
