I recorded a couple's wedding and I'm having it put on DVD. I was wondering if I could do some editing on it with imovie? I want it to fade in and out between scenes. Does anyone know if it's possible to edit home movies in this fashion with imovies?

Yes it is. It has some very basic editing features. I have made several stop motion animation using imovie. It was actually pretty easy to use. Just don't expect to much from it.
