| | You need winzip. I have an old free version (ver 9). I dunno but I suspect you can get the free lite version at WinZip® - The Zip File Utility for Windows - Zip/Unzip, Encrypt/Decrypt somewhere.

It always begins by skulking, and assuming a disguise. Its advocates, when together, boast of great improvements, and congratulate one another on having gone greatly beyond the ‘old dead orthodoxy,’ and on having left behind many of its antiquated errors: but when taxed with deviations from the received faith, they complain of the unreasonableness of their accusers, as they ‘differ from it only in words.’ This has been the standing course of errorists ever since the apostolic age. | | | Do you want to "pack" several files into one zip file for emailing?
Or do you just want the files to reside in a compressed folder on your hard-drive so they take up less room?

| | Then Winzip is the best way to go, but technically it is shareware, not freeware. After the trial period you're supposed to buy it.
Then are some zip utils that work just as well and are truly freeware.
One that I like is Filzip home. Try a great, free zip program. | | The Following User Says Thank You to Seb For This Useful Post: | |

| | | I don't believe you need WinZip with Vista. You should have the right-click option as described by Chris, built in.

| | My personal favorite for compressing files is 7-Zip. It's interface is clean and, more often than not, I need it's ability to create tarballs and then gzip them so I can upload them onto the web and then use some custom commands to gunzip and then expand the tarball. | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
