Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the LORD your God.

Anyone else have a "Slingbox"?

I've always wanted one and being that I can hook up the lap top at work I thought now was the time. Working third shift I'll miss Monday night football, Thursday night NCAA football, etc. so this could help. Well, my brother has an ancient router with his Vonage (they gave it to him for free) and it just wasn't working. Needless to say I was annoyed. Taking the advice of a coworker of Ben's (my youngest brother) at CC I re-hooked everything. I took out all the ethernet cords from the Vonage router and hooked them all into my Lynksys Wireless N router and then hooked a line from it into the "internet" port of the Vonage router and hooked only the phone line into it.

Thankfully that worked! The Slingbox did everything for me once I had a modern router hooked up which was very nice.

Now I am watching my Comcast DVR anywhere I go that has high speed internet, including my work place! It's a very cool invention and I am glad I finally picked one up. If you've ever considered one I highly recommend them, just make sure you have a modern router!

Because as a machinist I can have up 20 minutes between machine cycles. Don't get me wrong, I can't sit and watch programs, etc. but I can check in on games and such. I just sit my lap top on a large tool chest beside where I work. It's cool.
