| | | Option to turn avatars off.
Is this an option? I'm aware that once on a thread you can click printable view and it will go to a text view. This desire is based on my thread on blackberry mobile devices. As far as load time and page layout, the avatars slow things down. If there were a profile option to turn avatars off, not only would it help out mobile users but also save on bandwidth ($$$). Whaddya think?

Chris, you should be able to disable pictures on your web browser. That's what I do for the browser on my phone.

We did consider that. It turns out that the avatars etc. would not really make up a big enough difference either way. Our issue is data; we have tons of posts.

FWIW,
I tried turning images off...of course it turns all images off. Josh, this means that I would be able to see your dancing bananas! How sad! The avatar only option sure would be nice!

Chris,
If you have the inclination and time, there is supposed to be a modification at xmbgarage.com
I don't have time now to register for that forum and search, but if you do and find something, let me know and I could probably implement it next week.
