I recall reading somewhere that some of the people who helped with the Scofield Reference Bible later came to reject dispensationalism...was I dreaming?

You are correct sir but I can't remember who right now. I do know that Scofield and Phillip Mauro had some heated exchanges together. You can read some of of them in Mauro's book "the Kingdom of God". Excellent book. I highly reccomend it. You can get it free with a download of online bible.
