Funny dispy response

I was talking on another board to some dispys recently and thought you would like the convo:

Them: Christ is coming back to rapture the church and destroy the evil of the world.

Me: What I find intersting is that the Pharisees were looking for a military leader to deliver them from an earthly evil. These Pharisees were wrong. What makes you think that you are any different than the Pharisees.

Them: Oh that is easy. See they were wrong, but we are right.

You're a better man than I for even being on that board. LOL.

I tired my best to witness at Rapture Ready after I came to understand reformed theology. I had been a member in very good standing at RR for years prior to that but it didn't matter. They banned me pretty quickly and refused to discuss it with me.

BibleMaster.com - Your Bible Resource Center is pretty much wide open. The main members are in the vein of a MacArthur, but after that some crazies are on there.

biblemaster.com

I started posting there a long time ago. After converting to reformed thinking, I stuck around for a while, but I very seldom go on anymore. Some of the dudes there are a bit nuts. If you do not believe exactly like they do, then you are a heretic and a lost soul.

The egos can be quite annoying.

I’m sure it was not his fault. He was raptured to meet his brethren in the clouds

Many years ago I posted at RR just because it was the only Christian news forum I knew of. I was amil (still am).

I found out Hal Lindsay was on wife #4 and the details of the last two marriages were apparently in no possible way (adultery or desertion by the wife) acceptable. I had to work to find his organizational headquarters phone number but finally did and called to ask about it, so as not to believe a lie and to give him the chance that maybe he was in counseling and repenting.

After some run around they finally admitted it but said that his personal life did not matter because what he taught was from God.

I was shocked and posted somewhere at RR about it, out of concern that a false prophet ( false by way of immorality...the rapture was not up for debate there) was being looked up to and quoted so much.

I was stunned by the replies. Stunned. Many of them were along the lines that who cared if he was in repeated adultery, he was right. A minority took the position that if I was telling the truth it had to be looked into, and he could no longer be posted as a Christian authority there.

It got so long and so heated and turned into 2 threads, one more along doctrinal lines of where you "excommunicate" authors. The final result was that two mods admitted to the truth of his 4th marriage and the post I had started with, but said it didn't matter, Hal L was preaching truth, and he was going to still be the big rapture guy at RR. I was not banned but they deleted both threads and said no more mention of Hal's 4 marriages was allowed, at all, ever.

I left. To this day the mention of that place gives me the creeps.

That is really a behaviour typical of a Cult. Very sad.
