Chafer's Systematic Theology

I know everyone with an addiction to books has seen it on sale right now at www.christianbooks.com No one "needs" it in their collection, but it would be a nice addition considering how important it is in the theological history of the Church.

I bought it. It was on sale for $49.99. I noticed right off the bat he quotes the WCF a lot. Much is orthodox, some of it is plain beautiful, but he was a dispey...no doubt.

Just buy it.

Watch out for the antinomian OSAS no lordship teaching.

Beware of a religion without holdfasts. But if I get a grip upon a doctrine they call me a bigot. Let them do so. Bigotry is a hateful thing, and yet that which is now abused as bigotry is a great virtue, and greatly needed in these frivolous times. I have been inclined lately to start a new denomination, and call it "the Church of the Bigoted." Spurgeon

That is a book review for He That is Spiritual. So far, I've read the section on the divine decrees, it's standard calvinism. I wondered what happened to dispensationalism...it's almost all arminian now.

Chafer was a modified 4 pointer.

I just logged on to retract or correct my post. Chafer seems confussed, sometimes a 5 pointer, sometimes a 4. For a Reformed review see amazon.com.

peace,
