More of a philosphical question than a question of inquiry.

The Law is a revelation of the holiness of God in a way in which man (believers) can comprehend.

The holiness of God is beyond our understanding, but the Law brings understanding (revelation).

The moral Law is a means by which the believer can express his thankfulness and love toward the God for all of His mercies.

God's perfect standard summarized in the 10 commandments. Our inability to keep the law drives us to Christ for mercy; it helps us understand the perfection of Christ's obedience to the father on earth; it gives us a standard for our sanctification as we grow to be more like Christ.
