It is God that multiplies our sorrows....
God, as a righteous Judge, does it, which ought to silence us under all our sorrows; as many as they are, we have deserved them all, and more: nay, God, as a tender Father, does it for our necessary correction, that we may be humbled for sin, and weaned from the world by all our sorrows; and the good we get by them, with the comfort we have under them, will abundantly balance our sorrows, how greatly soever they are multiplied. - Matthew Henry

Actually the phrase should be rat bowels, as in bowels of affection (sphlagna or however its spelled) but the Non-TR advocates changed the text to brains due to faulty dynamic equivalence in translation theory and faulty manuscript evidences. I am for the old english Rodentine Bowels, as Erasmus originally translated.

Absolutely.

Recall 2 Opinions 3:12-14...

"And the Rat said, 'Let Us make brains in Our image, both fried and cooked, that they may scurry about and fill the earth.' And the rat brains scurried about on little dollies, looking for the rest of the rats. And when they were found, there was much rejoicing."

I have one of those rat brain dollies. It is a holy relic that I stole from the Eastern Orthodox Church. I shall cherish it always.

I'm sorry, Friends, but neither of these are adequate. I specifically asked for anecdotal experiences and mystical feelings of the heart as the criteria for proof.

FAIL.

One Thursday I was driving my car when a sudden jerk of the wheel to avoid a flying foodstamp precipitated a chain reaction with the drink in my cupholder, threatening to spill its contents (liquid mercury) over the entire floormat of the passenger side of my vehicle. The cup was flying through the air, at a truly Shandian angle, when I cried out 'Rat Brains!' It mysteriously righted itself and out of nowhere I heard astonishing music . . . As if angels were playing 'Ten Little Indians' on their creaky knees, right next to my ear. After that everything was a blur. When I woke up a mysterious voice told me I could not pass go or collect 200 dollars. Apparently I was playing monopoly with Alan Greenspan. I say, sometimes on Thursdays.

I must confess: I am partial to rat brains. Many of my childhood memories are connected to rat brains, to wit:

Numerous rat killins in the hay or barn with either a .22 rifle/pistol or a baseball bat. Rat brains were always a part of the action.

Finding decapitated rats left on the porch by the barn cats. I know that those rat brains are valuable, the cats would never let anyone have them.

And, finally, if you must know rat brains are an intrinsic part of Arkansas culture. That's all I can say. If I let out more my oath will be broken and all sorts of calamity will fall upon my head.

Josh, Is this a good time to talk about those 10,000,000 posts I once had (for an hours or so)?

What about left brains? Ya know, in the south we distinguish between rat brain and left brain thinkers.

I saw the Mary, Queen of the Universe chapel, and it caused me to spit up on my computer screen. The resultant stain looked just like an image of rat brains.

I'm glad you started this one.
I had noticed how you keep going "rat brains", and it obviously means something to most people, but not to me.
Can anyone define it so as to make sense to a sadly without-it Scot?
