This morning I watched a Russian flick titled, “Ostrov” or the Island in English. It’s a wonderful “parable about faith and salvation” as the back of the DVD case reads and provides a look into the Eastern Orthodox mind. I put it on at 7 am this morning and have thought about it all day. THE ISLAND | DVD | Movie | Film | Foreign Films | Independent Films | Reviews | Awards Quote: |
A young woman in agony visits a small island in the frozen North of Russia to find the allegedly enlighted Orthodox monk, father Anatoly, and ask for his advice on a serious problem she faces.
