Unbelievers grope to find meaning in life and the results of their groping come out in the TV they produce. Did anyone catch the recent episode of Battlestar ("Guess Whose Coming to Dinner") in which one of the characters argued that meaning in life is found through death. A certainty of death, according to the character (a model 6 cylon), heightens life and brings it purpose and meaning. It is obviously silly, but it is a reminder of what darkness secularists are in once they abandon God. Their answers to the question of the meaning of life are so silly, so speculative.
