| | | What does EP stand for?
I am not refering to Exclusive Pslamody but on some music albums the title is followed by EP. Does any one know?

Extended Play. At least that is what I've seen.

ya, the verbage comes from vinyl records.
LP = Limited Play ; EP = Extended Play
EP is now just means it is more songs than a single but not enough songs to considered a full length album.

You are showing your (lack of) age. LP was Long Play - usually 12 inch 33 1/3 records (as opposed to the 7 inch 45 singles and the old 10 inch 78s. )
EPs (which you correctly call extended plays) were originally 45s engineered to have 2 songs per side instead of the usual 1.

I always thought it was "Early Project"... it always seems artists release an EP and then a few months later release the full length with the majority of the EP songs on the LP...

It is true that I am young, but growing up in the punk scene alot of my favorite "underground" bands came out with their albums on vinyl instead of CDs cause it was cheaper to make and sell. Mostly, I think it was just us wanting to be cool and a little nostalgic |
